Last year “Dinghy Fever”, a short form comedy that I Produced, Co-wrote, and Co-directed was shortlisted by the Judging Panel of Optus’ One80 Project 2011 Competition.
The ONE80Project gives aspiring TV and filmmakers, directors, producers or anyone who is keen to crack into the Aussie TV and film industry a shot at TV drama production.
“Dingy Fever”
After a boozy night celebrating her birthday on a Fancy Dress themed harbour cruise, Jasmine Pentagast a popular 21-year old, wakes to find herself stranded on the open ocean in a dinghy with 3 perfect strangers: Derrick a self-styled survivalist with 23 corporate survival exercises under his belt, Wally, a by the book pedant with a healthy respect for rules, and Benny an awkward, fantasy roleplaying enthusiast who seemingly wouldn’t hurt a fly, or would he? Fighting their hangovers, the group try to piece together the events that transpired the previous evening leading to their current plight. The gravity of their situation begins to dawn on them, as they realise that without food, water, or means of navigation they will not only have to battle the elements, but themselves to survive.
